Our History
The Salumificio Bellucci opened in Modena in 1969. The cured meat factory shares a deep and innate attachment to the gastronomic tradition of Modena. Ermanno Bellucci, the last of a family of cured meat producers, and founder of the Salumificio, is still in charge of the company today.
The establishment started in Modena inside a small workshop with a sales outlet where the entire Bellucci family works. The factory’s pork products include zampone, cotechino, bacon, ciccioli and sausage, in addition to the marketing of other Emilian cold meats such as prosciutto crudo, prosciutto cotto, and coppa.
Over the years the visibility of the company increased and, in 1980, the company opened in a new facility in Castelnuovo Rangone, the Italian capital of cured meat production. Closing the company outlet, the company directed its efforts into the retail market and later on to large-scale distribution in North and South Italy and other European countries.
In 1989, the company decided to establish itself on the market with a line of salami and pre-cooked foods, especially cooked Cotechino, cooked Zampone and Salame di Modena. Due to the success of these products, more recently the company has also embarked upon the sale of Christmas gift baskets and boxed items.
The Salumificio has grown over the years, retaining its faith in tradition, and continuing to bring flavourful treats to the table of many families with the same quality and care in its products as 47 years ago.
